Lon was recently appointed as it’s first Ambassador to the government agency SCORE whose charter is Counselors To Americas Businesses.  The Ambassador position is something new to the over half century organization.   Previously known as The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) they provide free resources and expertise to maximize the success of existing and emerging small businesses.  SCORE is the result of The Small Business Act that was signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1953. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) was created at that time as the law said the federal government “should aid, counsel, assist and project the interests of small business.”

Lon spoke to the Society of American Archivists at their 71st Annual Convention held in Chicago. Lon Safko had been chosen to represent the “American Inventor” in a presentation called “It’s More Than Just the Patent: Documenting Invention Records and The Makers and Players.
